National Curriculum Links.
During Key Stage 1 pupils learn about people's lives and lifestyles. They
find out about significant men, women, children and events from the recent and
more distant past, including those from both Britain and the wider world. They
listen and respond to stories and use sources of information to help them ask
and answer questions. They learn how the past is different from the

During Key Stage 1 pupils start to enjoy writing and see the value of it.
They learn to communicate meaning in narrative and non-fiction texts and spell

Assessment.
In order to assess children correctly in their learning, teachers may use a number of methods found in both summative and formative assessment. Click here for the attainment targets for history which can also be found in the National Curriculum.
